I ordered this thing before its scheduled availability at a good price; $59.00 I notice they are listed higher now, but we all know that Amazon prices are volatile. It looked good out of the box an hour ago, but the lack of a remote is a major problem, as you have to continually turn the thing around to punch the right button. I suppose you get better with practice… The menu choices seemed to be fairly limited. Then I noticed the row of dots halfway across the middle of the screen. They were present on menus and pictures. Oops! Major LCD defect! A great excuse to return the item, which Amazon authorized with no problem (of course I had to re-pack it and will have to take it to the PO), which is why I will return to Amazon and buy several more of the Ziga DF820-ZUS 8″ frame that I ordered at the same time and which has been working beautifully for the past week.

This is one Great LCD photo frame. The picture quality stands up to some of the top rated ones. Couldn’t find a better one out there!

I needed a small frame for my desk and this fit the bill. I think the images are surprisingly clear and crisp for such an inexpensive frame. The transition effects are nice and not over done. It’s amazingly lightweight too. I also love that I can insert a USB key instead of an SD card and it plays automatically. I gave the frame 4 out of 5 stars because I believe if it had a remote and allowed picture randomization it would be an even better frame. It’s a little annoying that it plays pictures in number/name sequence only and if you shut the unit off and turn it on again it starts from the beginning of the “roll” not from the last displayed image. If you have many pictures ( I have over 900 on my USB key) you don’t necessarily want the slide show to start at the beginning each time you turn it on.
