Ordered this based on reviews plus specs on the Samsung web site. Even downloaded the users guide to confirm capabilities. When received the item noticed there was no slot on the frame for the XD cards (which is what our camera uses). Called their tech support. They were not aware of change to spec and said there must be a shared input slot that took the XD card ! I was dubious, but continued to set up and install the item.

Noticed that the manual on the CD sent with the item was different than the one on their web site and did NOT include XD card support. A subsequent call to a different tech support person confirmed that XD is no longer supported – though none of their documentation on line reflects this even today !!!

Also their documentation of downloading pictures from the PC was confusing. Finally got it working and picture quality was excellent. However, due to lack of XD support, had to return the item.

I was given this item as a gift and loved it! It was perfect for my room, the slick white frame matched perfectly to my decorations. I liked it so much that I ordered the same exact one to use for work purposes. It will be used for PR and Marketing efforts. For my frame at home, I load pictures to a USB flash drive, plug it into the frame and they appear with no problem. I plan to use this new frame the same way. Well worth the money. Also-it was delivered in an unmarked box, so any shipping/delivery issues the company had in the past were addressed. Very pleased.

This frame is wonderful. The picture quality is amazing, and it looks great in a room. The problem I had was with the seller. It shipped in the box you would find on the shelf at the store. This ensured everyone on my street knew what was sitting on my front porch, and the person the gift was for knew what they were getting since they got the mail. If there had been some notation from the seller that they don’t package the boxes, I would have gone elsewhere. Note:I did NOT purchase this from amazon directly. It was purchased through amazon, from another seller. If you see this product somewhere else, it is simply great. The frame itself is everything I hoped it would be!

(The gift reciever loves it too)

This is the best digital photo frame that I have seen. Photo quality is great… price is right… and it’s incredibly easy to use. Very stylish. Love all of the different card slots. When I am lazy… I can just put my camera card directly into the frame to see my photos. I have the 8″ white frame which is great for my desk. It is truly the perfect size… not too big and not too small.

The Samsung SPF-83H frame is disappointing. Although it has good resolution it cannot open and display a substantial subset of my .jpeg picture files. This is independent of aspect, resolution, file size, whether the file is loaded directly into the frame’s internal memory or resides on a compact flash card, the software used to edit the pictures and the camera used to take the pictures. Attempts to modify these files to change the parameters mentioned above plus cropping or other editing parameters did not cause the files to be opened by the frame. I am returning the product and looking elsewhere for a good frame.
